New art

quick painting from New Mexico

arriving home with the burst of color Sunday

aching to paint but no air til today

The first painting shows the transition - midweek - readjusting - staying centered
watching how I have grown - seeing where I was - in order to see where I want to go clearer

Remaining centered
shifts in energies coming at me
acceptance
hope

grateful for:
the Kellys - their kindness and love
generousity
compassion
sandstone, quartz and red rocks
desert winds
high altitude sunshine
Keegan
animals
10,000 waves
green chiles
sopapillas
the blue room

My mendhi from last weekend - Thanks Jen!
Such a lovely weekend of sun - chanting - vibrations - mountains and love.
Following that......

And trying to start some new paintings while making some new spring cards...
working on a website...and keeping this blog up to date more.

More to come...
promise.

WAKING

Waking up on Sunday morning
REFRESHED
Spent the last two days fasting
Can't seem to get past 2 days
I think it has something to do
with my interaction with Keegan
I start to go into deep self places
and don't give him the attention he needs.
Sometime a week retreat somewhere
will provide the solace and emptiness
a full 5-7 day fast requires.

My normals routine would be to go
to the market this morning
but right now feel like working on
a brochure I am doing
so I am going with that.

I love this self portrait my son did this morning.
He's getting very good at these.
Inspiring me to do some of my own.
It's been a while.

Nikki 9-25-09

Finally posting some things from the last month
Where does the time go?
Tonight was inspired by an amazing woman
Poet Nikki Giovanni spoke
at Bucks County
Community College
She was funny, honest,
relevant, rambling
and real.

“Love conquers all things; let us too surrender to Love”
- Virgil

"The creative process is a process of surrender,
not control.”
- Julia Cameron

“Better indeed is knowledge than mechanical practice.
Better than knowledge is meditation.
But better still is surrender of attachment to results,
because there follows immediate peace.”
- Bhagavad Gita
